Area 51

While a lot of technology was captured from Germany, by the Americans, it was taken to a secret location. While the science prisoners were taken to New Castle Army Airfield near Wilmington, Delaware, other pieces of German technology were being shipped to other places. With one of these places being Groom Lake Nevada, which would later be known as Area 51. This base was located in the desert outside of Las Vega, where there was a dried-up lakebed.

At the end of World War Two many captured Germany aircraft were tested and reversed engineered at Area 51, such as the Me 262. Even pieces of enemy aircraft were captured and sent here for study, like the Horten 229, which lead to other flying winged crafts. It’s believed that Americans also took back technical documentation on saucer craft to study here. Over the next few decades these German crafts would be reversed engineered and used to design other American aircraft. Many German ideas materialized in American hands, during the cold war.

At the same time, area 51 did many projects involving producing their own disk shape craft, which were unsuccessful. This was because the German did a good job, hiding the technologies behind the Haunebu and Vril crafts. One of the most noteworthy of these was the “Flying Flapjack,” which was built, tested, and cancelled in the late 1940’s. The Americans also experiment with making new types of alloys and propulsion systems, at this place as well. Later this place would give birth to many top-secret aircraft such as the U2, SR-71, F-117, F-22, and the F-35, as well as multiple other protypes/experiments.
