Röntgenkanone

The Röntgenkanone was another energy beam weapon, which was funded by Kammler, and designer by Ernst Schiebold, who was Dr. Widerøe rival. The Röntgenkanone use x-ray beams to disable magnetos in target aircraft. While it wouldn’t destroy the craft, it would create situations where the targeted craft would need to fly at lower altitudes, making them more subspherical to flak and anti-aircraft fire. It was designed by the same team that designed the Rheotron

The Röntgenkanone was powered by the flying saucers powertrain source. The same motor and fuel that made the craft fly also provided power to the weapon system, this meant that the craft didn’t have to carry ammo.

It’s believed that many of the pieces radar and radio equipment that failed on the USS Mount Olympus during Operation High Jump failed because they were attacked by this type of weapon. After the attack, Mount Olympus had to go under extensive repairs for two and a half weeks after the battle, before leaving Antarctica.
