Cancelled Operation Sea Lion and Change of Focus

Operation Sea Lion was a German plan to invade Britain. Unfortunately, it was postponed indefinitely in September 1940, when the Luftwaffe 8-month blitz failed to destroy Britain, along with the German failures on the eastern front. This invasion would require large amount of conventional weaponry, but when Operation Sea Lion was cancelled, the Germans shifted their focus to wonder weapons.

Their main focus was jet aircraft such as the Me-262 or the Ar-234, as well as working on other designs for aircraft that could reach places like Siberia and America, such as the Silvebird or A9. Other space-based weapons like the Oberth Sonnengewehr (Sun Gun), a giant mirror in space that reflected light to burn cities, was also thought up as well. There were also other experimental weapons that were built as well like the v-3 supergun, which could fire a 150mm shell more than 100 miles.

As the war drew to a close, many resources and precious materials the Germans needed for their high-tech research became to scarce. They still kept working on their concepts and designs, but all that would come to a close March 1945.

These technologies would be captured by the allies and kept away from the public. The world we could have been living in, we can only dream of.
