Hitler and Himler organized something known as the Order of the Black Sun. It was a secret research group that would study not only these unique flying machines, but also the possibilities of living in other unearthly environments.
In 1934 Wewelsburg Castle was rented by the local government of the area, Westphalia, by Himmler as a base for their new secret research society. The castle was rent on a 100-year lease, at a tiny price of only 1 German mark per year. After the location was secured by lease, the Himmler and the SS went about refurbishing the med ieval castle, into a modern SS research institute and academy. Different cambers of the castle were sections for different areas of study, much like a modern college, has different halls and wings for different subjects. Each section had a code name, based on a character from “Gail Romance.”
