Every time a Nobel Peace Prize was awarded, there were always about half a dozen German scientist amongst the ones honored. Many modern scientists don’t work for the better of their country, however the Germans. Even the scientists and researchers who do have great ideas, their great ideas usually fail due to financial issues, or someone else controlling the industry. However, the German scientist were treated differently around this time.
When European scientists of any country receive proper funding, encouragement, and support, for their lofty goals, their creative output and scientific works are truly amazing. This is why many modern western countries, which are full of bad business practices, fail to have technological innovations. A good example is America of today vs America in the 1950’s, or Russia today vs Russia in the 1960’s. In the few short years that Hitler was in power, he made sure to support the scientific communities throughout all of Germany, and occupied territories. This was how German went from biplanes of World War One, to the rockets and jets, that the allies ended up facing.
It would only be until World War Two was underway, and after, during the cold war, that the Western scientific communities in the west, received anything close to the amount of support that the German scientific communities had.
Inventions like conventional aircraft, both jet and prop, that utilize metal skin. Even more modern airframe designs were tested by the Germans including flying wings, and delta winged designed craft. They also designed and tested many propulsion systems, such as turbo jets, rockets, roto-wing crafts, and ramjets. Even their tanks and land vehicles featured some of the highest tech and futuristic seen for their time in history.
The idea that they also designed flying disks as well, isn’t far off, when we look at all the other technologies that come from them as well.
